[Celebrations]
The name "Tazukuri" comes from the act of making rice fields. During the Edo period, anchovies were spread on rice fields as fertilizer, which resulted in a good harvest, and so the name was chosen. Later, anchovies began to be eaten as part of New Year's cuisine to pray for a good harvest.

[Taste]
Anchovies caught in Shizuoka Prefecture and elsewhere in Japan are mixed with soy sauce, sugar, and starch syrup. No synthetic sweeteners or seasonings (amino acids, various extracts, etc.) or vegetable oils (palm oil, etc.) are used, giving it a traditional taste.
